The Reoccurrence of Payback

The play Hamlet written by Shakespeare can be analyzed and when compared to article " Revenge: Can it Make You Feel Better? ” simply by Karyn Lounge. Hamlet is a tragic play that challenges multiple character types to the option of payback, which was usually taken yet shown to possess remorseful thoughts. As the article goes to make clear that payback only includes a brief sense of comfort where the a sense of regret uses quickly following. It would require long before Hamlet would find out that his Uncle killed his dad over his desire to rule as king. This would drive him crazy or at least to create him take action crazy. His neurotic habit would persuade his friends Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to comply with his Uncle Claudius in eliminating Hamlet. Hamlet would get wind of this very quickly and would set up his " friends” for death. The cycle of revenge could happen extremely speedy as individuals are very energetic and rarely think ahead of acting. While Hall declares that it is required for " Delay until you will be calm emotionally and can think rationally before making any decisions. ” Hamlet was obviouslt not in a clear attitude and was acting on impulse due to tragic events that had occured. In Take action III Field IV, Hamlet plans to kill his Uncle Claudius in vengeance for the murder of his father. Hamlet accidentally stabs Polonius whom he mistakes intended for Claudius when he sees an individual surreptitiously lurking behind the curtain. In killing Polonius, Hamlet not simply killed an unacceptable person although murdered the father of his lover and a loyal soldier towards the King. This event made multiple characters spiral out of control. In this case, payback did not help to make Hamlet feel better as his love, Ophelia, killed himself over the death of her father and Hamlet was now aware that Polonius would be out for his life as well, just carrying on the pattern of payback.
