Mocking Social Flaws in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Many popular authors and historians consider Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to be a great American novel, noting Twain's influence within the American culture through satire. Over the characters' journey, Twain observes the defects he sees in social norms, that happen to be especially evident in two of his primary characters, Huck and Miss Watson. Throughout Huck's escapades with Jim, a runaway slave, Twain utilizes irony to highlight the idiotic stereotypes and slim mindsets from the American people. Mark Twain uses epigramme and poker fun at to expose the shortcomings in human nature and condemn captivity.

Throughout the story, Twain emphasizes the flaws in humanity, portrayed in Miss Watson, the " great Christian woman, ” and Huck's daddy, Pap Finn. Although Miss Watson contains herself in high view, trying to increase herself and grow in hope, she will not realize that keeping human beings as property is moral turpitude. Another of Twain's confusing characters is usually Pap Finn. Huckleberry Finn's father, Pap Finn, is actually a slob, a drunkard, and is also completely illiterate. However , enough time that your dog is not spending hallucinating in his pigpen, this individual spends producing wildly ignorant comments about allowing African-Americans to vote. Even though his black equal is very well dressed and well educated instead of his say lack of education and category, Pap Finn feels that it would...
