The research investigated the achievement and attitude to mathematics of the second year high school students inside the Special Put in the Arts plus the Basic Education Curriculum in Gingoog Town Comprehensive Nationwide High School, Gingoog City.
The answers to the following complications were desired: The comparison of the math concepts achievement in the students when they are grouped according to Particular Program in home repair and the Basic Education Subjects; the comparison of the mathematics achievement of the students inside the Special Put in the Arts and the Basic Education Curriculum when they are grouped in accordance to their math concepts ability level; and the comparison in the attitude of the students towards math concepts in the Exceptional Program in the Arts and in the essential Education Programs.
The descriptive research method utilized in the study. A 30-item validated achievement test was used to determine the level of achievement in the students; while the 30-item mathematics attitude level of Aiken (1979) utilized to determine the attitude of the learners toward math concepts. The 60 вЂ“eight respondents were the 2nd year college students enrolled in the Special Program in the Arts and the Basic Education Curriculum. Capability grouping in the students was based from their final degrees in math concepts during 1st year. Two groups had been identified вЂ“ the high ability group and the typical ability group. High ability students had been those students whose marks ranges via 86and above, while the typical ability pupils were all those whose grades ranges coming from 80 to 85 (DepEd memo # 79 s i9000. 2003).
